Beeline can now send MMS to Europe

Beeline
VimpelCom (Beeline) has become the first Russian mobile operator to set up MMS exchange with operators in Lichtenstein, Slovenia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Croatia and Austria.
This means that Beeline subscribers can now exchange MMS messages with subscribers of VIPnet in Croatia, Mobilkom in Austria, Mtel in Bulgaria, VIP.Operator in Macedonia, Si.Mobil in Slovenia and Mobilkom in Lichtenstein. Should they ever need to.
“We are seeing that MMS is becoming ever more acessible and popular among our subscribers,” claims Oksana Belyaeva, director of business segment marketing and roaming. “More than 70% of subscribers have handsets that support MMS. The number of service users has grown seven-fold in the last three years. SO once we had finished setting up MMS exchange with Russian operators and Beeline networks in CIS countries, we set straight to work on partnerships with Eastern and Western European operators, at the same time underlining our status as a bona-fide international operator. In future we plan to increase further the list of countries with which MMS can be exchanged.”
